Another half-baked beta test
I’ve bought a lot of deals and I’ve seen a lot of software of the years.
Recently, I had the chance to give Potion a try and I have to say, it left me feeling pretty underwhelmed. It felt like the product wasn’t quite finished, and there were some rough edges that really stood out to me – the lip syncing in particular was pretty bad. I understand that software is never truly finished and there’s always room for improvement, but in my opinion, this one just wasn’t ready for prime time.
I tried using this with TidyCal, which is an app from Appsumo, in conjunction with Potion. Unfortunately, the two didn’t really mesh well together.
Also the teleprompter is just garbage compared to BigVu (another appsumo) and I even tried recording with BigVu and bringing it in as a dynamic video but Potion wouldn’t allow it, as it only allows webcam videos to be used as dynamic videos (to automatically generate videos with personalized greetings) this prevented me from using my 8K Samsung to film and instead had to rely on my MacBook Pro web camera, good but just not the best quality.
The lip syncing was off and it just didn’t look professional. I was suggested to use Hubspot as a solution, but it would have added extra steps and didn’t really address the core issue.
There is no way to upload a CSV to the dynamic video and even cutting and pasting an entire column from a CSV file gave me errors, as it copied extra spaces for the first name, and had no column for the email address.
I also had a tough time trying to make it work with Lemlist, it’s not clear but I guess you have to export the videos as a CSV file into whatever email system you are using? How am I supposed to sync up these two list after I am done, one CSV list containing emails and one CSV containing the video links and the clients first names from Potion. This is just not well thought out.
The only good thing I can say about the app is that it saves a bit of time by being able to cut and paste client names at the beginning of the video, but that alone is not enough to make up for all the other issues I encountered. All in all, I was pretty disappointed with my experience using Potion and I wouldn’t recommend them to others.

One video software to rule them all!
Very generous plan from the Potion team. There are a lot of use cases that i have in mind for this, I haven’t implemented any of them yet, but just playing around with it gets me pumped! This can be a very powerful sales tool that saves time. This is a lot simpler to use if you are wanting to customize video content. This might take the cake for me considering i have Berrycast, Sendspark, Hippo video, Chopcast etc. I wish there was an option to buy more tiers but i’ll take what i can get!

Good
This is a very interesting tool. I grabbed 2 codes and may buy more for my team, simply because if this can help just with 1 single client then it’s paid for itself many times over, and I think it will (or hope so anyway).
Some things to improve:
– The generation of videos is taking quite some time (I made several tests with 2 contacts/names only and it’s taking several minutes)… what about 200-300 prospects at a time? Is that going to be in hours?
– I see a slight chop between the greeting and the pre-recorded video. Not sure if this is just me looking out for it or not and not sure if prospects will see it as well, but it doesn’t come across 100% natural if looked very closely
– There could be more editing options for the automated screen recording. For example, I’d like to add my second static video at some stage of the automated screen recording, so the final output has their screen recording and then let’s say my presentation / pitch I recorded before
– Work on the landing page: e.g. option to remove the name of the account holder (or to change it).
The current format is unnecessary (it shows the created username from my email). Also different landing templates would be nice.
Why 5 tacos?
Simply because I didn’t come across this before and looks pretty cool. Good to see people innovating and at this price for a lifetime deal it’s really a no brainer.

Next-level Sales Enabler – One To Watch
Video is the (not-so) new currency for all consumer based action, and this goes for B2B sales as well. Video really help capture attention and tell a story, rather than just text.
I’d previously done dozens of individual video recordings for prospects and it was exhausting. Potion is going to help me change this and put almost everything on auto-pilot.
Now I think Potion is unto something very special and remarkable (much SendRobot and Luna). AI will help make conversations with prospects seem so natural and human-like that they mostly won’t be able to tell the difference.
Potion is a great tool. I had some issues with setting up my account and within 24 hours of a scheduled call, the issues (in their control) were fixed. I’ve got Autoklose and the links aren’t currently personalising, but they’re working with the team to get this done.
What I really like about Potion are the following:
– Tech innovation
– Client base (you know you’re in good hands – Sendspark should be worried)
– Ease of use
– Support (Kanad is great!)
What I dislike:
– Not so much a knock as it is candor, but there’s a way to go before this becomes a perfect platform, however, I believe the founders will make it happen and very quickblog, this doesn’t even detract from my number of tacos because I believe Potion will overdeliver in no time.
I’m waiting for the additional features to be released next week – you’re not going to want to sleep on this deal. Its pedigree is outstanding as is its promise. If you’re in B2B sales, you should add Potion to your toolbelt, and at this (one-time) price, it’s a no brainer!

Time Saver!
You have no idea on how much time this software saves me. Before this software, I was sending 50-70 custom videos a day. Now with a few clicks, I can automate the whole process with a personal touch.
